A New Identity Carved in Wood
This project explores the creation of a visual identity for Waiheke, an island in New Zealand known for its natural beauty, relaxed lifestyle, and strong local culture. The goal was to develop a brand that reflects both the spirit of the local community and the sense of escape sought by visitors.
Inspired by the island’s landscapes, craftsmanship, and heritage, the identity is built around a tactile, wood-influenced aesthetic. The graphic language balances authenticity and modernity, positioning Waiheke as a contemporary travel destination while remaining deeply connected to its local roots. The result is a visual system that captures the island’s character and invites people to step away from daily life and experience Waiheke’s unique atmosphere.
